Dogs Trust

Puppy wing receives generous donation!

A huge thank you to Owen Reilly who recently dropped up to Dogs Trust with a very generous donation! This donation will be directed towards the care of puppies born in Dogs Trust’s Puppy Wing which was built in 2014.

Suzie Carley, said “Our new Puppy Wing was opened in direct response to the huge number of puppies and pregnant mums being cruelly abandoned in Ireland.  In the past, Ireland was known as the ‘puppy farming capital of Europe’, it is estimated that over 90,000 puppies are bred in Ireland every year.  We are delighted to have the support of Owen Reilly in this important initiative which is at the heart of our important lifesaving work.”

Owen Reilly, a Dublin estate agent with offices in South Dublin, Dublin’s city centre and Docklands, is originally from Meath and has had a life-long interest in animal welfare. By supporting the puppy wing, he said the firm was starting with ‘supporting the most vulnerable’. He continued: “We are very pleased to be in a position to provide support for the next six months and look forward to learning more about Dogs Trust.”

The wing is the first of its kind in Ireland and provides a whole range of special services for mothers and their new pups including full veterinary care, offering them the safest start in life.
