Our Rehoming Process
Like everyone in Ireland, we’ve had to change our way of doing things following the Coronavirus crisis. Our Dublin Rehoming Centre is closed to drop-in visitors and will be operating on a limited appointment-only basis for the foreseeable future, but that doesn’t mean we have stopped our life saving work. Throughout the pandemic we have continued taking in dogs in need of care, and searching for Forever Homes for them and that's where you come in!
ADOPTING AN ADULT DOG TO A HOME WITH YOUNG CHILDREN:
Generally speaking, we often don't know the background or history of the dogs in our care, unless they have been surrendered to us directly by their previous owner. So, we have to err on the side of caution for the safety of potential adopters and their children. However, if we know the dog has happily lived with children in the past, then we may be able to rehome the dog with children in the future.
Thank you so much for thinking about adopting one of our dogs, we simply couldn’t do this without you. We also need to ensure that we can continue to be there in the future for the dogs who need us most, which is why we are asking for your support to help us help dogs! If you are in a position to donate to our life-saving work, we would be very grateful: www.dogstrust.ie/helpdogsnow
