About Nieve

Nieve is a gentle soul with a heart full of potential, quietly waiting for the right family to help her bloom. Beneath her worried eyes and shy nature lies a dog who has already shown immense courage and resilience. Coming from a very difficult background, Nieve never had the chance to experience the warmth of a real home or the comfort of human kindness but her journey with Dogs Trust has been nothing short of inspiring. With time, patience, and lots of gentle encouragement, Nieve has started to overcome her fears and take brave steps forward. Though still very much a work in progress, she's already shown just how much love she has to give, if only someone gives her the chance. Nieve is looking for a calm, adult-only home with a secure garden where she can continue to build her confidence at her own pace. A home with a friendly, confident dog could be a great help in guiding her as she learns what it means to be truly safe and loved. Nieve may not be the dog who bounds up to you with a wagging tail on day one but for the family willing to invest their time, love, and patience, she promises something even more special: the quiet joy of watching a scared dog learn to trust, and the unbreakable bond that forms when she finally does. Could you be the one to help Nieve discover the happy life she's always deserved?

Now you've decided that you're ready to welcome a new furry friend in your life, it's time to meet the dogs available for adoption.

You can search for a dog based on your location and lifestyle. We have dogs available for adoption across the whole of Ireland. While some dogs are based at our rehoming centre in Dublin, many of our dogs live all over Ireland with foster carers or their current owners until they can find their forever homes. The best way to find out how you can meet them is to fill out an application.

If you are hoping to adopt a puppy, we're happy to discuss this as part of the application process. Please bear in mind that we don’t usually add their rehoming profiles to our website as puppies grow and change in appearance so quickly.

Please bear in mind, if you are looking for a very specific breed, size or temperament, or have a very busy household, it may take longer for us to find your perfect match.

Many of the dogs in our care may have had a difficult start in life, or have specific medical or behavioural needs, and need a quieter household or one with no other pets. We try to match each dog with a family where we think they will have the best chance of success.
