About Sprinkles

Meet Sprinkles, a gentle little dog who is ready to find a family of his very own. Although he can be nervous at first, it is clear that Sprinkles really wants to make friends and, with a little time and patience, his sweet personality begins to shine through. Sprinkles has had very little experience of everyday life, so many of the things most dogs take in their stride are still new to him. He is looking for kind and understanding adopters who will allow him to settle at his own pace, paying close attention to his body language and giving him the space he needs to build trust and confidence. He could live with gentle and respectful teenagers aged 14 years and over who will understand that friendships with Sprinkles are built on patience and allowing him to come to them in his own time. A home with a very secure garden is essential, giving Sprinkles a safe place to practise wearing a collar and lead while he builds his confidence before venturing further afield. His new family will also need to continue his confidence training using positive, reward based methods to help him discover that the world can be a wonderful place. Sprinkles truly comes into his own when he has a confident canine companion by his side. He takes reassurance from other dogs and enjoys following their lead, so he will need to live with a friendly, confident resident dog. Sprinkles could also be rehomed alongside one of his more confident friends, allowing them to start their new adventures together. With time, patience and plenty of love, Sprinkles has all the potential to blossom into a loyal and devoted companion. If you have a calm home, a confident dog to show him the ropes and are happy to let him find his confidence at his own pace, Sprinkles could be the perfect addition to your family.

Now you've decided that you're ready to welcome a new furry friend in your life, it's time to meet the dogs available for adoption.

You can search for a dog based on your location and lifestyle. We have dogs available for adoption across the whole of Ireland. While some dogs are based at our rehoming centre in Dublin, many of our dogs live all over Ireland with foster carers or their current owners until they can find their forever homes. The best way to find out how you can meet them is to fill out an application.

If you are hoping to adopt a puppy, we're happy to discuss this as part of the application process. Please bear in mind that we don’t usually add their rehoming profiles to our website as puppies grow and change in appearance so quickly.

Please bear in mind, if you are looking for a very specific breed, size or temperament, or have a very busy household, it may take longer for us to find your perfect match.

Many of the dogs in our care may have had a difficult start in life, or have specific medical or behavioural needs, and need a quieter household or one with no other pets. We try to match each dog with a family where we think they will have the best chance of success.
