Understanding Your Dog: The Adult years

Once your dog reaches around two years old, you’ll likely notice them starting to mature and settle down (well, a little!) These are the years when your relationship really deepens, and the bond you build becomes something truly special.

It’s worth remembering that while your dog is a big part of your world, you are their whole world. You decide when they go for walks, what and when they eat, and you're the one who takes them to the vet when they’re unwell or to the groomer when they need a tidy-up.

Throughout the year, there’ll be different challenges to navigate. Keeping them cool in summer, warm and dry in winter, or managing their stress around fireworks during Halloween. Busy times like Christmas or birthdays can also be overwhelming for dogs, even if we’re having a great time.

As we grow used to having dogs in our lives, it’s important we stay in tune with their needs. To help you keep on top of it all, we’ve created a handy infographic you can download here. Why not pop it on the fridge or in the utility room as a gentle reminder of everything your dog might need, year-round?
