Closure Notice Served on Carlow Puppy Farm
The dogs in our care include new born orphaned pups, nursing mums and pups, and heavily pregnant mums. In the picture, we can see Honor, a very frightened Cocker Spaniel who is due to give birth any day now. They, along with all the rescued dogs have been given emergency veterinary treatment and are safely in our ‘Mutternity Ward’ with TLC from our Canine Carers, soft blankets, food, water and Lyric FM playing softly in the background, a welcome change from the concrete walls and horrendous conditions of the puppy farm.
Please bear with us during this process and should you wish to give a home to one of these dogs please keep an eye on our website, Facebook, Twitter pages and we will keep you updated.
We are delighted that a closure notice has been served on this horrific puppy farm, the first such closure notice to be served under the Dog Breeding Establishment Act 2010. Dogs Trust calls on local authorities to greatly increase their enforcement of the already light touch legislation in order to safe guard the welfare of dogs and prevent such a dreadful situation ever arising again.
