Dogs Trust

Guess How Many Dogs We Rehomed in 2018?

We are delighted to let you know, with your amazing support, we were able to rehome a fantastic 907 dogs from our Rehoming Centre in 2018!

We are working towards the day when all dogs can enjoy a happy life, free from the threat of unnecessary destruction. Until that day comes, we continue to save as many dogs as possible through our Rehoming Centre and variety of rehoming initiatives, prioritising those that without us, would be most at risk of destruction.

We care for over 1,000 dogs a year, of all shapes and sizes, at our Rehoming Centre in Dublin. The majority of our dogs come directly from Local Authority Dog Pounds all around Ireland as they are most at risk of destruction, dogs also come into our care from other rescue organisations, and a number who have been surrendered into our care for a variety of reasons. We also care for puppies who are born on site after their mothers have arrived into our care.

Our Rehoming Centre operates at maximum capacity at all times, which means we are usually unable to accept dogs for intake at very short notice, as we plan in advance for any available kennel space we have.

We want to see the day when no dog dies from unnecessary destruction, and we will never put a healthy dog to sleep.

Our dedicated Canine Carers, along with our Training and Behaviour Advisors and our Veterinary team work very closely together to get dogs arriving into our Rehoming Centre back on all four paws and ready to be adopted. Every dog at Dogs Trust is a part of our family, and there is nothing more rewarding than seeing a dog we have loved and cared for, find their Forever Home.

We were over the moon to see some of our longer-term residents find their forever families in 2018, including Amber, Guy, Jupiter, Nico, George, Max, Gerry, Wyatt, Trapp, Cooper, Vivienne and Sponsor dogs Bruno and Finn!

Thank you for your continued support and here’s to rehoming many, many more dogs in 2019!
