Maintenance & Gardening Volunteer

Location: Dublin Rehoming Centre

Purpose of the Role:

To assist the Maintenance Operative by maintaining outdoor areas and keeping the centre clean, tidy and well-presented.

Key Responsibilities:                  

  • To assist the Maintenance Operative in the maintenance of the centre and grounds
  • To complete general outdoor duties including weeding and tidying the paths and mowing the grass
  • Work alongside the Maintenance Operative
  • Be knowledgeable on the work of Dogs Trust Ireland

Time Commitment:

Flexible volunteering hours available. Ideally, we are looking for a volunteer who can commit to at least a four-hour shift once a week.

Skills Required:

  • Passionate about dogs and dog welfare
  • Good level of physical fitness. Dogs Trust Dublin Rehoming Centre sits on 7 acres of land which requires continuous maintenance and upkeep of the grounds
  • Ability to work in a close-knit team or alone
  • Conscientious with a can-do attitude and the ability to follow   instruction
