About Sunhat

Meet Sunhat, a sweet and gentle little dog who is looking for a patient family to help her discover that the world is a safe and happy place. She can be nervous when faced with new experiences, having had very little exposure to the everyday sights and sounds that many dogs take in their stride. With time, understanding and kindness, Sunhat is sure to continue growing in confidence. Sunhat is looking for calm and patient adopters who will allow her to settle at her own pace and let her build trust in her own time. She will thrive in a peaceful home where she can make steady progress without feeling overwhelmed. A home with a fully secure garden is essential, giving Sunhat a safe place to explore and build her confidence while she learns to wear a collar and walk on a lead. Her new family will need to introduce this gradually using positive, reward based training, allowing her to progress at a pace that suits her. Sunhat could live with calm and understanding teenagers aged 16 years and over who will respect her space and allow her to build relationships on her own terms. Having a confident canine companion is essential for Sunhat. She looks to other dogs for reassurance and takes comfort from following their lead, so she will need to live with a friendly resident dog. Sunhat could also be rehomed alongside one of her friends, allowing them to begin their new adventures together. With patience, encouragement and plenty of love, Sunhat has all the potential to blossom into a wonderful companion. Every small step she takes will be a huge achievement, and watching her confidence grow will be incredibly rewarding for the family lucky enough to welcome her home.

Now you've decided that you're ready to welcome a new furry friend in your life, it's time to meet the dogs available for adoption.

You can search for a dog based on your location and lifestyle. We have dogs available for adoption across the whole of Ireland. While some dogs are based at our rehoming centre in Dublin, many of our dogs live all over Ireland with foster carers or their current owners until they can find their forever homes. The best way to find out how you can meet them is to fill out an application.

If you are hoping to adopt a puppy, we're happy to discuss this as part of the application process. Please bear in mind that we don’t usually add their rehoming profiles to our website as puppies grow and change in appearance so quickly.

Please bear in mind, if you are looking for a very specific breed, size or temperament, or have a very busy household, it may take longer for us to find your perfect match.

Many of the dogs in our care may have had a difficult start in life, or have specific medical or behavioural needs, and need a quieter household or one with no other pets. We try to match each dog with a family where we think they will have the best chance of success.
