Created by canine experts and learning specialists, this CPD certified course is an eight week learning path designed to build your knowledge and confidence. You'll be introduced to the Five Freedoms and what good dog welfare looks like in practice, learn how to read and respond to dog body language, and explore the foundations of behaviour and positive training. You’ll also be guided through safe and respectful handling, and finish with insight into how to design and deliver effective training sessions.

Disclaimer: The program does not qualify the learner to become a vet, dog trainer or pet behaviourist. It does, however, provide a solid grounding to allow the learner to make decisions on whether to pursue a career with dogs.

 *Please note: A stable internet connection with webcam and microphone is required. The course is best experienced on a computer or laptop. The live sessions are not recorded, as the value lies in the live discussion and shared learning experience. Learners are required to attend to complete course modules as scheduled.

You do not need to own a dog to join this course. However, you will need access to a dog to complete the practical course project.

Course completion
