Dogs Trust Ireland is Ireland’s leading dog charity. Since 2009, we’ve been helping abandoned, rescued and surrendered dogs get back on their paws and find the safety and joy of home. We also campaign for dog welfare to build a better future for all dogs in Ireland.
How we help rescue dogs in Ireland
We take in and rehome dogs all over Ireland.
When a dog is in distress, we care for them. When a dog needs a home, we find them a loving family. When an owner needs a helping hand (or paw) – or they just can’t cope, we’re ready to step in.
We take in and rehome dogs from local authority dog pounds all over Ireland. We also take in dogs from individuals (providing we have available space to do so) for all sorts of reasons: from changes in accommodation and finances, to relationship breakdowns and family crises.
Our aim is to find every dog in our care somewhere to call their own. Since we opened our doors in 2009, we've rehomed over 21,000 dogs all over Ireland.
How we help dog owners
Sharing our lives with dogs is incredibly special. We owe it to our best friends to understand what they need from us to keep them healthy and happy, making sure we’re always there for them, in the right way. We’re here to help all dog owners build and enjoy the best bond they can with their dog.
We can’t do it alone
It's thanks to the generosity of our incredible supporters that we’re able to love and care for hundreds of dogs in Ireland every year.
With no government funding for the delivery of our life-saving work, we rely on the dog lovers of Ireland to provide the care and support that so many rescue dogs need before they’re ready to find their forever home.
Our supporters drive everything that we do. They’re at the heart of everything that we achieve.
