A Little Kiss, from Dutchess to You

Skinny. Starving. And left at the local dog pound because she was pregnant. But weak as Dutchess was, she summoned the strength to give her rescuer a little kiss. Safe at Dogs Trust, in the arms of your love, with that kiss, she was saying... 'Thank you.'

When our team heard about Dutchess, rail thin and heavily pregnant, they knew she couldn’t wait. Your Love is Life-saving Dutchess & her precious pups Poor Dutchess, so thin and diminished already, became dangerously ill as she tried to care for her newborn pups. 

Thankfully, a mum-and-pup kennel had just become free. Your kindness took things from there… 

Dutchess was so thin you could feel every rib. But just 24 hours after your love brought her through our doors, she gave birth to ten fragile puppies. Two slipped quietly away, too weak to survive. But eight clung on, your kindness gave them warmth, safety and a fighting chance.

Poor Dutchess, so thin and diminished already, became dangerously ill as she tried to care for her newborn pups. 

She developed diarrhoea, blood clots and was struggling to stand on her back legs. 

But thanks to you, Dutchess got the urgent vet care she needed. And your generosity wrapped her in all the love she'd never known before. 

Karen stayed with Dutchess while she recovered. She was weak and exhausted. But above all, she was desperate to feel the love and comfort she’d been denied for so long. 

“I opened my arms for Dutchess and she melted into them,” says Karen.  Then she looked up into her carer's face and gave her a gentle little kiss on the chin. That kiss, it was for you..
