Brief:
The National Ploughing Championships is a large, outdoor agricultural trade exhibition and festival held annually in Co,Offaly. It's known as Europe's largest such event and features a variety of activities including competitive ploughing, livestock displays, machinery exhibitions, trade stands, and more. The event attracts farmers, businesses, and the general public, offering a platform for showcasing innovation, networking, and celebrating Irish agriculture.
This event brings in 300,000 attendees over a 3-day period from all over Ireland. Our goal for attending the event is to spread our brand awareness throughout Ireland while promoting our dogs available for adoption or foster.
We are looking for volunteers to attend and work alongside our staff at the Dogs Trust stand.
When:
Tuesday 16th September 10am – 4pm
Wednesday 17th September 10am – 4pm
Thursday 18th September 10am – 4pm
Where:
Screggan, Tullamore, Co.Offaly
Your role as a volunteer:
- Welcoming visitors and explaining what we are about.
- Distributing flyers and handing out free Dogs Trust shopping bags.
- Sell stock at the Dogs Trust shop and restocking the stand.
- Answer basic queries on rehoming and direct to staff.
Key points:
- Volunteer t-shirt will be provided on the day.
- Dogs Trust will supply your entry ticket for the day.
- Lunch will be provided.
- As it is a rural location, your own transport is required.
- There will be no security at the marquee so please bring or leave valuables.
- Be prepared for sun or rain!
