Do you enjoy helping people learn, grow and feel confident in their work and want to see that make a real difference to dogs’ lives?

Dogs Trust is Ireland’s largest dog welfare charity, working to ensure every dog has a safe, happy life. At our Dublin Rehoming Centre, we care for dogs with a wide range of needs and that work depends on well-trained, supported people.

We’re now recruiting a Training Coordinator to support staff and volunteers across Operations by delivering practical, welfare-led training and development.

What you'll be doing:

  • Deliver and coordinate induction and ongoing training for staff and volunteers.
Support learning in the Development Block, modelling best practice in daily care, handling and welfare routines.
  • Work closely with Dog Welfare Supervisors, Behaviour Officers and managers to embed learning into everyday practice.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to build confidence and consistency across teams.
Maintain accurate training records and support continuous improvement of learning approaches.
  • Promote safe, welfare-led practice across Operations.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting or delivering training, inductions or learning activities.
  • Confidence explaining tasks clearly and supporting people with different learning styles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An organised, practical approach to planning and coordinating training.
  • A genuine interest in dog welfare and best practice in animal care environments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and roles.
  • Commitment to Dogs Trust values and ways of working.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in an operational, welfare or volunteer-led environment
  • Experience coaching, mentoring or supporting staff development
  • Understanding of animal welfare or behaviour-based working environments
  • Experience maintaining training records or learning documentation
  • Familiarity with health & safety or compliance-based training

Why Join Us?

  • A hands-on role where you make a real difference in the lives of dogs every day.
  • Work with a passionate, supportive team that shares your love for animals.
  • Be part of a charity that’s shaping the future of dog welfare in Ireland.
  • Enjoy a varied, rewarding role that combines care, training, and community engagement.
