Heartbreak. Abandonment. Impossible choices.

Dogs all over Ireland are in crisis and there are hundreds of dogs who desperately need our help this Christmas. Every week calls are coming in from people forced to make the heartbreaking decision to surrender their dogs.

Tasha was one of those dogs.

Last year was Tasha’s first Christmas but instead of spending it on a cosy sofa she spent it alone in the pound. Tasha had sadly been surrendered. She went from being in a family home, to being in an environment that was the complete opposite of what she knew.

When we first met Tasha at the pound, she was extremely anxious. We could see she was too afraid to travel to the rehoming centre and it would’ve been unfair to move her at that point. Our canine carers visited Tasha multiple times over several days and spent hours with her building up trust.

Even after she moved to the rehoming centre it took months of care, compassion & kindness to help Tasha get back on her paws. But thanks to supporters like you, we were able to help her and the happy, playful puppy she was started to appear.

There are so many dogs like Tasha who need us right now. They won’t wake up in loving homes or have a family to cuddle, feed or spoil them.
