Dublin Rehoming Centre - Adopt and rehome one of our puppies or dogs

Dogs Trust Dublin

In October 2009, our first centre in Ireland opened in Dublin. We’re very excited by the prospect of having small ones and tall ones, cheeky ones and squeaky ones, fluffy ones and scruffy ones, all ready to meet their new owners.

The centre contains a long central block dedicated to rehoming with carefully designed, environmentally conscious kennels for the dogs in our care. This is behind the main reception block, which also houses a training barn and staff offices. The rehoming area leads to three sections at the back: kennels for dogs who are awaiting collection, a state of the art vet suite and intake kennels to hold dogs who have just been brought in until they are vet checked and assessed.

Picture of the Rehoming corridor where all the dogs live and can be seen by the public.

The rehoming block kennels are positioned along the corridor at an angle. This is so that:

  • Dogs can see visitors coming, so they are calm (yet enthusiastic!) as strangers come in.
  • Visitors can see lots of dogs at once, so no dog is overlooked.
  • Dogs can't see each other so there is less chance of stressed barking and a calmer atmosphere is maintained.
