How Rehoming Works
10 steps to finding your perfect dog... please read carefully as there is relevant information below the table, too!

Questionnaire Tell us about yourself. Pick up a form at a centre. We'll keep this on file for six months so the next step is coming in to see us!

Talk to staff We'll help match you with the best dog for your lifestyle. We can't contact you about available dogs individually, so please contact Dublin or visit to find out more. Also, you can search online and set up search alerts in our Rehoming Gallery

View the dogs Visit the rehoming kennels, meet the dogs who are looking for new homes.

Shortlist We help you make a shortlist of dogs that match your lifestyle.

Meet the selected dog Get to know the dog you would like to give a home. If you have a dog already, talk to staff about arranging a meeting between the dogs, too.

Home visit We visit you to make sure that your home and garden are ready. Secure gardens are really important as some dogs can be real escape artists!

Vet check All our dogs are vaccinated, neutered, micro-chipped, and checked by our vet before being allowed home. Puppies that are too young to be neutered will be booked in for an appointment when they are old enough.

Pre-adoption talk We discuss how to make your new dog welcome in your home.

Going Home Complete with a new lead and collar, free bag of food and six weeks free insurance. You can now take your new friend home. |

Advice & support We are here to give you the benefit of our experience. If you need any advice about your dog at any stage, please contact the centre to speak to the team.
*There is an adoption fee that will need to be paid in full when a dog is taken home of €100.00. This fee helps us to cover the costs of caring for each dog, including neutering, microchipping and vaccinations.
