Education

Coco the teaching dog! This is Coco. Along with our education team, Coco visits schools, and youth groups / clubs to deliver free, interactive workshops for 5 – 12 year olds.

Our education team uses the topic of dog ownership as a means to help pupils develop self-esteem, confidence, responsibility, communication and teamwork skills.

We are thrilled to announce that as and from June 2010 our workshops will be available in the Cork and greater Munster area. Liadh Fitzgerald and her dog Molly would be delighted to come to your school and teach the kids about Responsible Dog Ownership. You can contact Liadh on 087 923 9221 for further details or to make a booking

The workshops are designed to be flexible and we will do as much as possible to meet your school’s requirements. Our canine themes have included focussing on a dog’s needs (the five freedoms), discussing careers at Dogs Trust and learning about safety around dogs.

Bursting with ideas, our Youth Education Programme offers a fresh perspective on looking after dogs with stimulating activities and comprehensive teacher guidance.
